Passion for Primates

Who is it for?

This is a three-day course aimed at anybody with an interest in primates, their captive care and our conservation work to save them

What will I get from the course?

​By the end of this course you will have deeper knowledge of primate biology, ecology, evolution and conservation and develop your understanding of primate behaviour and the practicalities of keeping primates in captivity.

How will you benefit?

By the end of the course participants will have a greater understanding of recent research and what it can tell us about best practise; the methods available to us to convey a message and their strengths and weaknesses; and methods to evaluate the impact of the message.

What is the course content?

During the course you will:
• learn more about the Durrell experience in conserving primates around the world
• Enjoy behind the scenes tours of our primate departments
• Make enrichment food parcels for various primate species
• Spend time with our expert animal staff

The course will run at the Durrell Conservation Academy, at Durrell's headquarters in Jersey.

How much will it cost?

Course fee: 200 pounds includes lunch
Accommodation options at Durrell Wildlife Park:
Hostel, 43 pounds per night, special half-board rate.
