The Variety Sailing Trust Ball  Saturday 22nd July 2017

The Variety Sailing Trust is pleased to announce that we will be holding our first summer ball at The Radisson Hotel, this July. The evening will be a great night out for everyone whilst at the same time help raise funds for those less fortunate than us.

Guests are welcome from 7.30pm and Dinner will be served at 8.00pm. We have great entertainment lined up for you with the very talented local band L is M followed by DJ Lummy providing a disco. The evening will end at 1.00am

There will be a raffle with many great prizes kindly donated by local companies.

As chairman of the Variety Sailing Trust I am writing to invite you to help support us by making up tables of 10 people for 500 pounds or individual places at 50 pounds which includes a three course meal followed by the entertainment.

Please help make this a great event.

About The Variety Sailing Trust
The Variety Sailing Trust is a charitable organisation which provides sailing opportunities on our 38-foot catamaran the Vernon Lilford Spirit of Variety. Our specially modified for disabled access Catamaran is available to people of all ages with a disability and disadvantaged young people.

Most of the clients of the Variety Sailing Trust come from schools and units for those with special needs ie: Mont a LAbbe and Les Amis, along with other care homes together with adult groups from Health and Social services. The majority of them have learning difficulties or mental health issues; some also have severe physical disabilities. The catamaran provides a safe and stable platform for people to enjoy an experience at sea.

The Department for Education, Sport and Culture help to meet the day to day maintenance costs of the boat, however major items of kit and the professional skipper’s wages must be met each year by the Trust. To continue to provide this opportunity to our young people, the Trust is reliant on donations from both corporate and the public alike. We are always happy to talk to groups about our work.

We also offer a limited number or special charters to raise funds, which can be a cruise to Les Minquiers reef, a sail round the island, or lunch in Chausey or Sark.

For more information about this, or any aspect of the Trust’s work please contact myself Bernie Manning on 07700 356438 or email
