Imagine the difference we could make!

legacy week 01

Imagine the difference we could make to the Island if we could double the number of legacies left here? That would still be only 14% of people choosing to do so!

Did you know that local bequests have:

Funded the restoration of the Georgian House, 16 New Street for the National Trust for Jersey
• Paid for the Hot Boxes needed by Meals on Wheels volunteers to deliver hot food to people
Helped Eyecan to create a sensory garden for people with visual impairments
Bought trees for the Val de la Mare Arboretum for Jersey Trees for Life
Enabled Jersey Hospice, which costs over £14,000 a day to run, to provide their services free of charge
Funded an ambulance for St John Ambulance in Jersey
Turned woodland at Jersey Zoo into a home for tamarins closely mimicking their natural habitat
Funded specialist medical equipment for the local Pathology Department through the Jersey Haemophilia Group
Enabled Brig-y-Don Children’s Charity to take children in care away on holiday
Provided Oxygen Therapy for people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis through the Jersey MS Therapy Centre’s Barochamber

Your legacy could be:

To pay for the specialist clothing a RNLI lifesaver needs when answering distress calls around Jersey’s coasts
To fund an apprenticeship for people with learning disabilities through the Beresford Street Kitchen
To help the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity provide emotional support to people diagnosed with a brain tumour
To provide expert training for Jersey Action Against Rape councillors helping Islanders cope with the aftermath of rape or sexual assault
To help improve facilities at Maison des Landes Hotel, providing holiday opportunities for disabled people
To help Headway provide its support groups for people with brain injuries
To sponsor a young adult with autism to gain qualifications leading to employment through Autism Jersey
To pay for Macmillan Cancer Support to run their service for a day in Jersey, helping local people diagnosed with cancer
