The Association of Jersey Charities would like to invite Jersey charities to a special free presentation from Steve Kenzie, the Executive Director at https://www.unglobalcompact.org.uk/about-the-uk-network/.

Steve is one of the keynote speakers at the Channel Islands Sustainable Business Conference, which is taking place in the afternoon of Wednesday 16th October.
In this separate session (which takes place at the Town Hall, Old Magistrate's Court from 10.30am to 11.30am on Wednesday 16th October), Steve will give a presentation to charities on the work of the UN Global Compact whose aims are to promote charitable sustainable development, relieve poverty, preserve and protect the environment, and promote ethical standards and conduct.

He will focus particularly on the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs), which businesses and charities in the UK are increasingly using to inform their strategic direction, and to prioritise their work.

Steve will talk about how the SDGs can help charities:

 focus on the impact they want to achieve
 report against their impact
 become more efficient
 talk to businesses about potential donations/sponsorship and achieve better outcomes
 ensure that their initiatives are effectively contributing to the overall goal of sustainable development
