Sustainable Development Goals can provide a long-term framework for charity success
At the well attended event, held at the Town Hall on 16 October, Steve explored the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and outlined how they could help charities with developing their strategy as well as building meaningful partnerships with corporates.
In particular, he discussed how the SDGs can help charities focus on the impact they want to achieve, report on their impact, become more efficient and ensure that their initiatives are effectively contributing to the overall goal of sustainable development
The UN Global Compact aims to promote charitable sustainable development, relieve poverty, preserve and protect the environment, and promote ethical standards and conduct.
Commenting on the event, AJC Chairman Marcus Liddiard said:
“I’d like to thanks Steve for giving his time to highlight the important framework the UN SDGs can provide for charities, enabling them to develop clear, effective strategies than can support their long-term success. The sustainability environment can be complex for charities, but Steve provided a comprehensive assessment of the landscape and an impressive vision for how charities can embrace the SDGs as they plan for the future.”
